Nashville’s Hot Chicken Festival!

The FREE event is held in East Park at 700 Woodland Street on July 4th each year The Fire Truck Parade begins at 10:30am followed by free Hot Chicken samples to the first 500 people in line. Festival gates open at 11:00am.Visitors can enjoy Hot Chicken from Nashville’s best Hot Chicken establishments, cold beer from Yazoo and other delicious edibles from local vendors.

Live music from local bands will playing the whole festival and five teams will compete to make their own version of Nashville hot chicken in the Amateur Cooking Competition.

The event ends at 3 pm. At that point people can start to make their way downtown for the fireworks display

Spicy Cheddar Sausage Balls!

What you’ll need:

-Half pound of pork sausage regular and spicy (or just  1 pound of regular)

-1 Cup of sharp cheddar cheese

-2 cups of baking mix

The instructions are quite simple. First combine the sausage and cheese in a bowl. If you are using an electronic mixer gradually add in the baking mix. If you don’t have access to an electronic mixer then you can add in the baking mix with the rest of the ingredients and begin mixing the ingredients.

To begin baking first preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly cover a baking sheet with the cooking oil of your choice. The start to ball up the sausage mixture and place onto the baking sheet.

Once the oven has heated up place the baking sheet in and bake the balls for 25 minutes.
